After our recent lecture about staffing structures and teams, it became apparent that Leeds International Film Festival has no available information regarding the people behind the organisation. As we have learnt, not only is a staff page important for people outside the organisation to contact the correct person, it also links with marketing and creating a brand.
LIFF is an unusual festival in that it is run by Leeds City Council. Due to this, their social media accounts and website have no real character and there are GDP regulations around staff information. However, I suggested in our weekly meeting that we should at least have a simple page on our website which explains each team member's role. We could also have occasional blog or social media posts that interview team members and give a further insight into their roles, thus giving the public an inside look into the organisation, but with the team deciding whether they want to disclose their email addresses for further contact.
